Elder Fine Art For almost 60 years Elder Fine Art Galleries has been a family business specialising in fine antiques and Australian paintings. Original owners Jim and Helen Elder imported regu- lar shipments of fine quality antiques from around the world. Starting in the 1980s, Elder Fine Art began promoting established and new Australian artists, regularly holding exhibitions that helped promote many important Austral- ian artists that are household names today, such as Pro Hart, Hugh Sawrey, David Boyd and Jack Absalom. This passion for the indus- try continues today through the Elder’s son Justin, who joined the family business in 2001. Jim, with his parents, began running special- ised art and antique auctions, filling a void in South Australia for Australian and internation- al paintings. Elder Fine Art continues to strive for excellence in its field, aiming to meet its client’s needs, and offering a family service to the fine art industry. 106 Melbourne St, North Adelaide SA 5006 Michael Treloar Antiquarian Booksellers Established in Adelaide in 1976, Michael Tre- loar Antiquarian Booksellers deal in quality out-of-print and antiquarian books, as well as vintage photographs, man- uscripts and autographs. Aslett stocks treasures for every room in the house. For the office, consider a French walnut Louis XV-style desk with curved legs and ball and claw feet, of the Baroque style. Or, for the bedroom, a French marquetry queen-sized bed with brass mounts, designed with thin sheets of contrasting wood that reveal exqui- sitely ornate florals. Aslett’s collection of book- cases includes the Parisian walnut Renais- sance breakfront with intricate carvings. Also, for the bedroom, consider the Early Victorian flame mahogany chest of drawers featuring rounded edges. One of Australia’s largest im- porters of antiques and mid-century items, Aslett has a fully trained restoration team who take great care to sympathetically restore pieces using traditional methods. 377 Fitzgerald St, North Perth WA 6006 Tel: +61892275502 aslettantiques.com.au
