Le Labo – French for “the lab” – awaits you. Le Labo’s collection of personal, body and home fragrances are named after the most prominent note in its composition, with the identifying number on each product reveal- ing the total notes used to create that blend. Ingredients such as sandalwood, black tea leaves, rose centifolia, bergamot, tonka bean, juniper, petitgrain and neroli are blended, just the way you like it. Founded in New York in 2006, Le Labo has revolutionised the idea of a personal fragrance. Each perfume is del- icately composed to ensure a harmonious and long-lasting scent. Le Labo boutiques operate as an open artisanal laboratory, like a lolly shop for the nose, where clients can take the time to smell and touch raw ingredients to awaken their olfactory system and trigger emotions. Each fragrance is layered with an in- toxicating blend of notes, and because they’re oil-based, one spray can last you all day. If you can’t decide what you want, then Le Labo’s Discovery Set contains either five or 17 sam- ple-size spritzes. Or try one of Le Labo’s signa- ture fragrances, the sensual and sophisticated Santal 33. Japingka

Aboriginal Art opened in Perth in 1995 and today holds more than 4000 ethically sourced Aboriginal artworks. An ever-changing feast, the art is created by men and women, some- times using different mediums. The artists live in remote deserts, on tropical islands, in small coastal regions as well as in towns and cities. Japingka Aboriginal Art occupies two levels of an 1890s warehouse in Freemantle. The ground floor gallery presents a broad cross-section of Aboriginal art from leading artists and regions. The two upstairs galler- ies present new exhibitions annually, chosen from emerging Indigenous and established communities and artists. Japingka is an active member of both the Aboriginal Art Association of Australia and the Australian Federal Govern- ment’s Indigenous Art Code. Both these indus- try organisations promote fair trade practices and ethical standards for the Aboriginal art industry. 47 High St, Fremantle WA 6160 Tel: +61 893358265 japingkaaboriginalart.com Archive Fine Books It’s everything you want a bookstore to be – crowded, quiet and with that unmistakable smell that says amazing ideas have been cap- tured in its stored books’ pages. Archive Fine Books, one of the largest second-hand book- stores in Australia, occupies the ground floor of John Mills Himself, a heritage-listed build- ing in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Fittingly, John Mills was a printer in the 1920s and the store still owns three copies of titles published by Mills: Reflections by Will H. Clarke, Secrets Revealed by J.W.
